Morenga Hunt
As an independent consultant, Morenga Hunt provides a variety of consulting services to arts, non-profit, and commercial organizations and businesses. Morenga serves as a technical assistance consultant for multiple grant recipients of the North Carolina Arts Council, the SC Arts Commission, and Charlotte’s Arts and Sciences Council, and as an associate consultant with other consulting firms.
His clients have included art galleries, dance companies, youth arts organizations, local and state arts councils, city governments, and higher education institutions. Much of his recent work has focused on arts administration, leadership, and management, Board and staff professional development, strategic and business planning, and executive coaching.
His experience includes work in local, national, and international arts and non-profit organizations and initiatives. He has served as a director, administrator and manager and offers specific expertise in audience development; community engagement; arts partnerships and collaborations; fund-raising; arts and cultural education; and festivals and conference planning.
Morenga is a graduate of and former faculty at Ohio State University. He was managing director of an award-winning performing arts cultural center in Manchester, England, UK, where he also served as an advisor, presenter, and consultant. After returning to the United States he has served as Vice President of Education and Community Programs at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, NC, and served on committees of the Broadway League, the Kennedy Center’s national partnerships program, and on various state and national boards and panels.
Morenga is in his fourth year as an adjunct professor in Winthrop University’s Masters Degree in Arts Administration (MAAA) Program. He has received multiple recognitions and awards for his work in the USA and abroad, including the Community Enterprise Award in England, and Winthrop University’s Medal of Honor in the Arts.
